First trip to the beach!

On Saturday it was pretty nice here, probably 65-70 and sunny so we decided to take Jackson on his first trip to the beach.  We walked the beach for awhile and he slept then we woke up to eat so he enjoyed a meal on the beach.  Then we got him out for a little photo shoot!

Birth Announcement

So, I sent this out to most of the family but just in case you haven't seen this here is the birth announcement that I designed.

Catching up

Once again I feel like I'm playing catch up with the blog...sorry faithful readers ;)  Life here is crazy but good.  Jackson continues to grow like a little weed and I fall more in love every day.    I'm loving being home with him though it's much, much harder than I had anticipated.  Our biggest issue these days is that Jackson doesn't sleep much at all during the day.  Most days he's up by 6-6:30am and doesn't sleep at all except maybe a 20 minute nap until he goes to bed at 11:30pm!  He gets quite fussy though and really just fights sleep.  I took him to the doctor last week though because he was getting more and more fussy and was starting to throw up a lot.  It turns out he has reflux with is what is causing him to be fussy, which in turn my be causing him not to sleep.  He also has thrush which could be contributing as well.  So, we have him on meds for both issues.  Joe and I are both exhausted as well!  Joe stays up and does the 11pm feeding and then I do all the night time feedings and get up with him in the morning.  Until the last few nights he's been a great sleeper at night usually only getting up once.  However, the last few nights he's been up 2 and 3 times.  A growth spurt maybe?

My parents came for a long weekend over Valentines Day and Joe's birthday.  It was the first time that my dad had meet Jackson and I think he was quite smitten.  Grandma is also wrapped around his little finger!  They've started leaving clothes here so I'm thinking that they plan on being back often!  I've told them if they keep this up we're going to charge them rent!  In all actuality it's been great seeing them so much and I really want that for Jackson as I didn't have those close relationships with my extended family.

For Joe's birthday I have a photographer come and take pictures of Jackson when he was just 3 weeks old.  I then framed a few of them for Joe.  I think he was pretty surprised and I think they came out pretty good.  I've included a few below.  The funniest part of the whole thing was that we have one bed with a dark bedspread on it and one we used with just a white blanket on it.  Well, she took naked pictures of him on both beds and he proceeded to pee on not one but both beds!  So I had to strip both beds, wash all the sheets and blankets and remake them before Joe got home so that he wouldn't suspect anything!

She's BACK!

So most of you probably didn't even know she was gone, but she was.  The night that I had Jackson the door to our patio was left open (we don't know for how long) and Piss got out.  It took us a few days to realize it with all the commotion in our house but I was heart broken.  Piss is my girl, and though she's a bad cat (hence the name - she pees on things) I have loved her for almost 6 years.  Well, I've been real sad about it and finally this week we hung some posters thinking that someone in our complex most likely had found her and took her in.  Well, this morning I was up at 5:45 with Jackson when the phone rang...A lady said she was out walking her dog and had just found piss and to come and get her!  I went right over and sure enough she was there with Piss!!!  She had been living out in the woods surrounding our complex for the last 4 weeks and 2 days!!  She had gotten all the way to the other side of the complex and probably just couldn't find her way  back.  She's skinny but if I had to guess someone had been feeding her as she's not totally wasted away.  The biggest problem is that she's loaded with fleas and Joe has pulled 2 ticks out of her!  YUCK!  So she's in the bathroom right now until we can treat the fleas and then get her to the vet to get all of her shots.  I'm so happy she's home though!
