Baby Update

Today I had my weekly appointment and the doctor ended up sending me over to the hospital for some testing.  To make a long story short, I'm dilated only to 1 or 2, but they have been concerned about my blood pressure the last few weeks.  All the sudden it's gotten pretty high and I'm starting to swell up like a balloon.  I have yet to gain any weight this pregnancy, and have actually lost some weight but in the last 3 days I've put on 5lbs which he says is all water weight.  This has him concerned about preeclampsia.  So, I thought I was just going for a simple blood test, however I was admitted to the hospital for almost 4 hours.  I was brought to labor and deliver and they monitored both me and the baby, ran some blood work, and monitored my blood pressure.  The doctor came in to see me at the end of it all, and said that everything came back ok, but that he was still concerned.  He told me that I need to take it easy (modified bed rest) for the next week and that as he put it "Your mama might get to meet this baby yet."  This is because my mom just got here and I was explaining to him how badly she wants the baby to be born while she's here.  He wants to see me next Monday and then talk about inducing possibly next week.  He's theory is that he'd rather induce before we have a problem rather than wait until we have a problem.  So that's where we stand with things, it's all happening so fast now!  But my mom is here and my dad will be here Christmas day.  It really would be great if Jackson made an appearance while there were here!

Late nights continued

The video below is what happens to me when I don't sleep, which I haven't been doing...

Baby, oh Baby

So I had a doctors appointment today and everything is looking pretty good.  I'm measuring about a week ahead of schedule.  The doctor said his goal is to keep me pregnant for the next two weeks and then we can talk about having a baby before the end of the year!

Decorating the Tree

Well, the Evenden's FINALLY got the tree up.  This has been on my to-do list since right after Thanksgiving, but oh well it's up.  It's a little weird preparing for Christmas here when we're still wearing flip flops!  In fact it's supposed to be 75 two days this week!  Anyway, our house is feeling much more Christmas-y.  Now the baking can begin!

And the winner is....

Jackson James Evenden.  That is what we've decided on, thanks all of you for voting, it helped set things in stone for us.  If you were wondering, the name that we had originally decided on was Pacey.  I love that name and not just because I'm a Dawson's Creek fan, I really do love it.  Jackson came in a close second and it was a good compromise.  The one issue I had with Jackson is that my best friend's little boy is named Jack, however, she assured me that having a Jack and a Jackson is an ok thing.  So, we're happy with our choice!

What's in a name?

Ultra sound, one day shy of 18 weeks, which seems like a lifetime ago!

So far the hardest thing about this pregnancy has been finding a name for this kid...we just can't seem to agree on a name!  Well, last Wednesday we were sitting in Barnes and Noble and I was looking at yet another baby name book.  To make a long story shorter, we finally agreed on a name, we even shook on it.  Mind you this was THE name we talked about even before I was pregnant, and has been my first pick all along.  So, we were feeling pretty good about at and then my parents came that night.  They didn't say much when we told them.  My mom said that it wasn't her favorite but that it was our choice.  She then went on to say that she had heard another name (which happened to be in our top three) a few times on the way down and really liked it.  So, my husband that had already shook on the name did a complete 180 on me!  He was all pouting and saying that it must be a sign, blah, blah, blah.  He just plain punked out on me.  So, once again we are back at the drawing board, which is where all of you come in.  At this point I just want to name the little guy, so take our poll and tell us your pick!

Ok, so here are the pictures of the new place that I have been promising.  Sorry if this is a ton of pictures for one post!

The Living Room, the rod is up but the curtains are not hung

The Kitchen

Dining area

The baby's room which is MUCH bigger than his room at the last house.  We're still waiting on some wall art, the valance,  and the rocking chair to complete the room

Another view

The rocking chair will go in this corner

A nice huge closet

Bathroom #1.  Don't mind the cat food.

Bathroom #2 which is in the spare bedroom/office

The entry way to the spare bedroom/office.  The bathroom would be right here on your right

The room, again MUCH bigger than the bedroom/office at the old place

Another shot

This room also has the worlds LARGEST closet.  If you'll notice on the right we are storing our washer/dryer that we bought and no longer need.  We still have space to spare in there.

Our room

The other side of our room.  The door on the right is the closet, the one on the left is the bathroom

Some of the bathroom

Somehow we ended up with the smallest closet in the place!

Thanksgiving Recap

Well, my parents just left a little while ago to head home to MI so I am finally getting some time to sit down and post.  We really had a great weekend!  They got here Wednesday evening and we got some dinner and just hung out.  Thursday, we got up and started the turkey and then decided to head to the beach while we waited for it to cook.  It was really nice here that day, about 70 and really sunny.  We were surprised by how many people were on the beach!

After our trip to the beach we came home and my mom and I finished our cooking.  We had a huge spread for just the four of us, and are still eating leftovers.  Some friends came over later that night for pie and desert and again, we had a great time.

Joe set the table and was quite proud of himself!

Friday we had another full day.  My dad helped Joe and I (ok, mostly Joe) paint the baby's room...again!  It was a bummer to do it after having done it in the old house but oh well.  It's done and looks great.  Joe, and dad did a lot of "guy projects" this weekend, which I think they both like.  Today, they put the crib together again, and moved all the furniture in place, hung some curtain rods in the living room, and some other random things that needed to be done.  There were a lot of trips to Home Depot, but I think they both had a great time.  Mom and I just kind of hung out with the dog and did our thing.  My mom loves Bruiser and was really happy to get to hang with him.  However, he had one too many table scraps this weekend and spent a good portion of yesterday throwing up all over the house...not fun!  He's on the mend and now that my parents are gone he keeps walking around looking for grandma.  It's good to know that they'll be back in just a few weeks for Christmas.  We love living here but it's time like this that we wish is just wasn't soooo far away!  We hope everyone had a great weekend like we did.

It's official...

We are all moved in!  We have only 2 boxes left and they aren't all that important.  We have pictures hung, closets and drawers organized and beds made.  We will hopefully get some time to post pictures tomorrow.

My parents left this afternoon to head here for Thanksgiving which we are really excited about.  Their plan was to drive until 10 or so tonight and then stop and spend the night somewhere.  This would have put them in around 6 tomorrow night.  However I talked to my mom around 9:30pm tonight and she thinks now that he has her locked in a moving vehicle that my dad is planning on driving straight through, which will put them in first thing tomorrow morning.  We are really excited to have company and for people to see where we are at these days.  I hope to post some pictures tomorrow, but if I don't get to it have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

NKOTB revisited

So, I posted about the NKOTB concert awhile back and told you all that I had no pictures because my camera got confiscated for being "too professional" at the concert.  Well, I stole some from my friend who was there with me and thought they were post-worth.  Have a mentioned what a great concert it was?

This was how they entered the stage, the rose up on this platform

And this is where the 8 months pregnant lady went nuts and started screaming like a 12 year old...

This is when they were on the small stage 4 or 5 rows behind us

Notice the original Smiley Face jacket on Joe...

The end

So, in the days leading up to our move our animals freaked out on us.  Now, many of you know I have one cat who has always had issues using the littler box when she's upset, hence her name being Pissy. However, this time it was the other cat, Grey.  So she was all freaked out and upset by the packing and moving that she left us a nice wet present on our bed the night before we moved.  So, we had to clean that up (I am the MASTER at removing cat pee and most importantly the smell of cat pee), and sleep in the other bedroom.   Annoying to say the least.  Then the next day the move started and we had to be careful what we left laying on the floor or she would pee on it.  Again, annoying.  The Bruiser the fully potty trained puppy took a nice poo on the floor the second he walked into the new place.  Getting more annoying by the minute. Things seemed to calm down until our second night here.  We were asleep and I woke up to the dog making the noise he makes right before he throws up.  Mind you he's sleeping on our bed.  Right between us.  The noise stops and I say:

"Joe, did Bruiser Just throw up?"

He replys "No."

and then 10 seconds later Joe says "Sick!  I just put my foot in it!"

So, needless to say we were up and doing laundry at 2am.  However, now that things have settled down all pet behavior is back to normal, thank goodness!

Unpacking

Well, we are officially all moved to the new place, which is kind of bittersweet for me. I loved the house that we were in and probably got way to attached to it. The move itself was a long yucky process. It's been really muggy here which sure didn't help. Poor Joe really got stuck with the brunt of the work seeing as how I'm 8+ months pregnant and not a lot of help! We have some great friends who helped a ton though. So, all of our stuff is in the new place and now we just have the huge task of getting it all unpacked and put away. I will probably take on most of this as I'm home all day and this is work that for the most part I can do. The fun part is we have just over a week to get it done as my parents are coming next week for Thanksgiving! It gives us something to work for though and then once they get here we have a few home improvement type projects that they can help with. I will post pictures as soon as things are looking more presentable!

Cats in the Cradle

One of the things that we were really excited to get at the baby shower was the mattress for the crib, we set it up right away and shortly after this is what we found!
