Today I had my weekly appointment and the doctor ended up sending me over to the hospital for some testing. To make a long story short, I'm dilated only to 1 or 2, but they have been concerned about my blood pressure the last few weeks. All the sudden it's gotten pretty high and I'm starting to swell up like a balloon. I have yet to gain any weight this pregnancy, and have actually lost some weight but in the last 3 days I've put on 5lbs which he says is all water weight. This has him concerned about preeclampsia. So, I thought I was just going for a simple blood test, however I was admitted to the hospital for almost 4 hours. I was brought to labor and deliver and they monitored both me and the baby, ran some blood work, and monitored my blood pressure. The doctor came in to see me at the end of it all, and said that everything came back ok, but that he was still concerned. He told me that I need to take it easy (modified bed rest) for the next week and that as he put it "Your mama might get to meet this baby yet." This is because my mom just got here and I was explaining to him how badly she wants the baby to be born while she's here. He wants to see me next Monday and then talk about inducing possibly next week. He's theory is that he'd rather induce before we have a problem rather than wait until we have a problem. So that's where we stand with things, it's all happening so fast now! But my mom is here and my dad will be here Christmas day. It really would be great if Jackson made an appearance while there were here!
The video below is what happens to me when I don't sleep, which I haven't been doing...
So I had a doctors appointment today and everything is looking pretty good. I'm measuring about a week ahead of schedule. The doctor said his goal is to keep me pregnant for the next two weeks and then we can talk about having a baby before the end of the year!
Well, the Evenden's FINALLY got the tree up. This has been on my to-do list since right after Thanksgiving, but oh well it's up. It's a little weird preparing for Christmas here when we're still wearing flip flops! In fact it's supposed to be 75 two days this week! Anyway, our house is feeling much more Christmas-y. Now the baking can begin!
Jackson James Evenden. That is what we've decided on, thanks all of you for voting, it helped set things in stone for us. If you were wondering, the name that we had originally decided on was Pacey. I love that name and not just because I'm a Dawson's Creek fan, I really do love it. Jackson came in a close second and it was a good compromise. The one issue I had with Jackson is that my best friend's little boy is named Jack, however, she assured me that having a Jack and a Jackson is an ok thing. So, we're happy with our choice!

We are all moved in! We have only 2 boxes left and they aren't all that important. We have pictures hung, closets and drawers organized and beds made. We will hopefully get some time to post pictures tomorrow.

Preparing us to be parents or just bad animals...you decide?

So, in the days leading up to our move our animals freaked out on us. Now, many of you know I have one cat who has always had issues using the littler box when she's upset, hence her name being Pissy. However, this time it was the other cat, Grey. So she was all freaked out and upset by the packing and moving that she left us a nice wet present on our bed the night before we moved. So, we had to clean that up (I am the MASTER at removing cat pee and most importantly the smell of cat pee), and sleep in the other bedroom. Annoying to say the least. Then the next day the move started and we had to be careful what we left laying on the floor or she would pee on it. Again, annoying. The Bruiser the fully potty trained puppy took a nice poo on the floor the second he walked into the new place. Getting more annoying by the minute. Things seemed to calm down until our second night here. We were asleep and I woke up to the dog making the noise he makes right before he throws up. Mind you he's sleeping on our bed. Right between us. The noise stops and I say:
Well, we are officially all moved to the new place, which is kind of bittersweet for me. I loved the house that we were in and probably got way to attached to it. The move itself was a long yucky process. It's been really muggy here which sure didn't help. Poor Joe really got stuck with the brunt of the work seeing as how I'm 8+ months pregnant and not a lot of help! We have some great friends who helped a ton though. So, all of our stuff is in the new place and now we just have the huge task of getting it all unpacked and put away. I will probably take on most of this as I'm home all day and this is work that for the most part I can do. The fun part is we have just over a week to get it done as my parents are coming next week for Thanksgiving! It gives us something to work for though and then once they get here we have a few home improvement type projects that they can help with. I will post pictures as soon as things are looking more presentable!

One of the things that we were really excited to get at the baby shower was the mattress for the crib, we set it up right away and shortly after this is what we found!
