So I'm not good at this blogging thing. However today I will update. The stress has slowing been building at our house regarding the job (or lack thereof) situation. We've applied like crazy but as it is with the teaching world we may not hear anything until days before schools start. Joe is starting to panic a bit and then today we got a letter from our apartment supervisor stating that we have 30 days to be out of our apartment! She lives in the other half of our house and is a young girl, and her parents own the house. We had told her that we were planning on being out at the end of Aug. because we would know more about teaching jobs by then. Well, she has friends that want to move in, and they need to be in by August 1 so she's booting us. Nice. So needless to say we're freaking out. We could easily go sign another lease somewhere in Mt. Pleasant, but then what if we are offered a job out of state? And we can't find anyone to least to us for one month! So, we are praying real hard for a job, and soon!!!!! We're just not sure what to do. A social studies position has just opened in Mt. Pleasant and I'm actaully really hoping that one comes through. I really didn't want to stay here but the timing of things would make this job really nice.

Baby Doctor

So today I had my first REAL appointment with my baby doctor. I was really nervous because last week I met with the nurse and ended up leaving in tears. She just wasn't a real nice lady, and she made me feel really stupid, not to mention she freaked me out with every phamplet on every birth defect that my baby could possibly have.

So I was the first appointment of the day today and it went well. I can see why this doctor came so highly recommended. I really liked her and on top of that, she did an impromptu ultrasound so I could actually see what's growing in me! It was pretty exciting and even though it's tiny it still makes the whole thing seem real now. So January 14th is my official due date....Have I mentioned we're praying for jobs!

Update

So, it's safe to say that I can break out my huge NKOTB buttons, and all my other crazy New Kids things because we are the proud holders of 4 tickets to the show at the Palace in October. Yes I will be huge and pregnant but I don't care! I'm pretty excited. And this time around I won't have to watch from behind the stage because we got seats on the floor. Today is a good day.

NKOTB Then

Ok, so back in the day I was absolutely insane when it came to these guys. I'm really not kidding. I had every cassette tape, every TV performance recorded on vhs, my walls were completely covered in every image to appear in BOP!, I had the dolls, the huge pins, the comforter and sheets. Get the picture, I LOVED them and was sure that I was going to marry Joe McIntyre. So much so, that in 5th grade my best friend Jenny and I called Boston information (where they are from) and got the number to Joe's parents (We knew who there were from BOP magazine of course). We thought we were so ridiculously cool because they actually gave us a number. However, the number rang busy every time we called, which was probably in the hundreds. We also racked up quite a bill dialing 1-900-newkids. We, being stupid, thought we didn't start getting charged until the first minute was complete.  I also thought I was the coolest kid in school when I got to see them in concert at the palace Christmas of 1989.  Mind you our seats where behind the stage and we couldn't see much but I didn't care...I was there.

So step ahead 20 years, and they're back. I was quite skeptical at first, but when the day came that they were to make the announcement that they were reuniting on the Today show I was all about it. My husband laughed at me and made fun of me but I was up at 6:00am on my day off mind you to watch it all go down. I sat on the couch and was like a giddy 5th grader all over again. I was jumping up and down and freaking out. They announced that they would make their first performance at the Today show. Well, my husband quickly told me (after finding out that I had been researching plane tickets) that I would NOT be in attendance for the show. BOO! Well, to make a long story shorter they announced that they would be touring...YEA!! So, I tried really hard on May 10th to get my friends and I tickets to the closest show, which was Chicago. I really didn't think it would be that hard. So, I sat there all morning all giddy again and the first tickets that came up were behind the stage so I backed out and entered new search criteria only to find that they were now SOLD OUT...in less than 4 min! I literally cried. I was so ready to revisit my girlhood all over again (but then we found out that night that I was pregnant, so I was ok). So, a week later they performed on the today show and it was actually pretty good. Again, I was jumping up and down, singing along and being all together ridiculous for an almost 30-year-old woman. And then the announced that new shows had been added to their tour. I ran to the computer and sure enough they will be visiting the Palace! I freaked out! I mean by that time I'll be all huge and pregnant but I don't care. So tomorrow is the day tickets go on sale. 10am folks. I'm pretty nervous. I'm actually in class at that time so another friend is in charge. So wish us luck, and most importantly don't make fun of me!
