Oh Baby! Part II

So, now that's it's not the middle of the night, I thought I'd update you on this story a little.  We have talked about having a baby for awhile and just a few months ago stopped taking the BC. However, for a variety of reasons we didn't think that there was anyway that it could happen this month.  However, last night we decided to go to bed early and were both standing in the bathroom brushing our teeth and I kinda was doing the math in my head and I was like "I think I'm late."  I HONESTLY thought there was NO way I could be pregnant but Joe suggesting taking a test anyway and it turned positive right away.  We were shocked!  I don't think Joe breathed for a good 2 min and I paced the house for about an hour.  We are so excited and scared.  Now the job hunt is in full force!

Oh Baby!

So if this is shocking to you, it was to us as well.

The craziness begins....

So this summer I'm taking a huge load of classes....24 credits to be exact (12 each summer session). It'a a huge overload and I'm taking them from 3 different schools. It's weird but I'm excited...this is my LAST semester EVER. I've been doing this college thing for so long it seems unthinkable that I could actually be finished. I've changed my major SIX times, attended four different schools, and I've taken two extended breaks (like 2 yearss). So here I am 29, and I will finally be graduating, not with my doctorate or my masters, but with a BA in graphic design. Anyway, between all these dang classes, looking for new jobs, graduation, etc. it should be a crazy summer in the Evenden house.

We're weird

So the other day I had just gotten out of the shower and I sat down at the computer and started messing around with some of the video features on our new computer.  We laughed pretty hard, but these are the results....(also I'm NOT naked)

Scary Face

Crazy Cat

I don't even know what to say about this....

Or this...

And one 20 min later, just to show we're normal people

Introducing....Bruiser

So we talked for oh, about 30 seconds about the possibility of getting a dog and then 2 weeks ago we drove past the walmart parking lot a some lady was selling Shitz tsu mix puppies and we came home with one. His name is Bruiser and he's pretty ferocious...I mean look at him. He weighs all of about 3 lbs. and so far other than pooing on our floor he's a pretty good pup. We acually thought we had the potty training thing down but the last 2 days he had decided that he can go wherever he chooses. He won't walk on a leash but it's really cute because he will walk long distances with us and stay right at our feet.

This is Bruiser the night we got him.

He looks so small in his bed

Our Cats aren't sure what to think of him yet

In other news, we drove down to TN last weekend to the Nashville area. Joe had a job interview and a job fair. He seems to think that it went pretty well but who knows. It's really weird visiting other towns and seeing them as places that you may live. As much as I'm ready to get out of Mt. Pleasant, it's still home. We haven't heard anything back from the TN schools yet and it may be awhile, so the search continues.

Scrapbooking

I found this video today, and thought it was really funny.  I do scrapbook and I have found that scrapbookers can be some of the most insane people on the planet...enjoy.

A Boring Thursday Night

Well, not too much new going on in our world the last few days.  Joe is out tonight at a work meeting so I'm hanging by myself....booo!

Though there isn't much new going on life seems really crazy right now.  We are in the process of job searching out of state and it's very stressful.  We don't really have any idea where we want to go we just know that we want to find a teaching job for Joe.  He is certified 7-12 grade Social Studies and History.  He's applied the last three summers here in MI but teaching jobs are really hard to come by here.  He has gotten really discouraged with it which is what's lead us to look out of state.  It's exciting to think about packing up and moving, a new adventure and all, but I'm a planner and it's driving me crazy.  I just hate the not knowing part.  So far we've applied in CO, TN, IN, NC, and NY.  I think both of us would really like to be in the Indianapolis area but we are up for anything, so if you hear of an opening let me know!

One pretty major piece of good news is that after 11 years I will finally be graduating in August!  I just registered for my last class today!  This is all IF I can make it through this semester and then the 24 credits I have to take this summer!  I'm having a really hard time being motivated as the semester ends.  I am taking my advanced graphic design class this semester and the only thing we do in there is put together our portfolio, and I'm  having such a hard time.  I feel like I'm cramming an entire semester of work into 2 weeks!  That's kinda the way I work though.

If you've got some time on your hands and want to read an interesting story check this out.  It's a pretty amazing story that I've been following about a young couple who has been dealing with cystic fibrosis, a very premature baby, and a double lung transplant all at the same time.  They are pretty amazing.
